Blood Cell Indices and Morphological Abnormalities Detected Among COVID-19 Patients Receiving Care

Blood cell abnormalities may occur among COVID-19 patients and could be detrimental during the disease’s progression. This study assessed complete blood count (CBC) parameters determined abnormal changes in peripheral of receiving care at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Ghana. hospital-based descriptive cross-sectional conducted KATH, Kumasi, Ghana, recruited seventy-three (73) RT-PCR-confirmed participants. Venous was taken from participants into EDTA tubes used for CBC analyses preparation a thin film morphological examination. Data obtained were analyzed with SPSS version 22.0, p< 0.05 considered statistically significant. Females predominant (45/61.6) had higher cycle threshold (CT) value than males (p=0.027).
